#BEDN – Fireworks (Bonfire) Night

With 2 small children, we haven’t made it to a Bonfire Night display for a long time. I remember my Dad being in charge of fireworks when we were children. Him lighting them with a taper and then running as fast as he could back down the garden. Having a bucket of sand or just the earth in the garden ready to put hot, used-up sparklers into. Mum making toffee apples. The children next door watching out of their bedroom windows.

I have no early memories though and I don’t think we ever went to a display. The first display I went to was probably when I was at University.

Maxi Mister loves watching fireworks but has a huge issue with the noise. I think we may need his ear defenders if we go any time soon. Here are some pictures that hubby took at a firework display last year (not on Bonfire Night, but fireworks all the same):
